# Settings

> Configure the desktop experience, browser runtime, connections, editor behavior, and update channel.

Settings are divided by responsibility so product preferences do not become workflow permissions.

Preferences apply to the current desktop app. They do not silently alter a saved workflow's graph, permissions, or published revision.
