# Import and export workflows

> Move a workflow safely without exporting secrets, connections, or local paths.

From **Workflows**, use **Import** to select a sndbox JSON export. Use a workflow row's actions menu to export it.

## What an export contains

The current format is `sandbox-workflow` version 1. It includes the disabled workflow definition, required node types, connection and profile requirements, derived permission requirements, local-path requirements, warnings, and export time.

```json title="Export envelope" theme={"system"}
{
  "format": "sandbox-workflow",
  "formatVersion": 1,
  "schemaVersion": 6,
  "workflow": {},
  "requiredNodeTypes": [],
  "requiredConnections": [],
  "requiredBrowserProfiles": [],
  "requiredPermissions": {},
  "localPathRequirements": [],
  "warnings": []
}
```

`schemaVersion` in a real export is taken from the workflow; do not replace it manually.

## Safety behavior

* Exports are limited to 2 MB.
* Local absolute paths are removed and reported as requirements.
* Connection and browser-profile references become requirements, not copied credentials or profile data.
* The exported workflow is disabled.
* Imports containing raw tokens, passwords, cookies, or webhook URLs are rejected.
* A compatible import receives a new workflow ID, the suffix `(imported)`, current timestamps, and the current schema version.
* Imported workflows stay disabled until you review paths, connections, profiles, and permissions.

> [!WARNING]
>
> An exported network-domain list is not blanket permission. Review the imported workflow before enabling it, especially command, browser, upload, deletion, and communication nodes.
