# Approvals and publishing

> Review a precise workflow revision before changing the published pointer.

Editing a workspace workflow advances its draft. Running or viewing a previously published revision does not cause the draft to become published.

## Publication sequence

1. Submit the exact current draft revision.
2. Collect the workspace policy's required number of distinct approval votes.
3. Verify every pinned plugin ID, version, and integrity is enabled in the workspace.
4. Publish with a change summary.

The approval record includes workflow, revision, status, required approvals, current count, and creation time. Rejection records a reason and returns the revision to a rejected state. An expired request cannot be treated as an approval.

## Rollback

Rollback selects an earlier published revision and creates an audit event naming both the previous and restored revision. It does not edit old content or erase the intervening history.

## Local Manual Approval node

Do not confuse workspace publication with the [Manual Approval node](/nodes/approval). That node pauses one execution locally for review of a proposed action. Publication approval governs which immutable workflow revision becomes the workspace's published definition.
