# Downloads

> Trigger a browser download, enforce a size limit, and save it inside an approved folder.

Download File clicks a recorded element and waits for the browser download. It writes only inside the folder selected in the inspector.

## Configuration

* **Locator** identifies the real download control.
* **Destination folder** is selected through the operating-system picker.
* **Filename** is optional and can be mapped.
* **Collision behaviour** is `rename`, `overwrite`, or `fail`.
* **Maximum size** is 1–2048 MB; the default is 100 MB.
* **Timeout** defaults to 60000 ms.

The output includes the trusted downloaded `path` and byte count. Map the path directly into Parse CSV, Parse JSON, Parse Text, Move File, or another compatible trusted path field.

## Managed browser downloads

Cloud-managed downloads are size checked and malware scanned before they reach the durable artifact sink. An unavailable scanner is not treated as a clean result. The temporary browser filesystem is destroyed with the workload.

## Troubleshooting

Use Wait For `download_begins` when a separate click initiates a delayed download. If the node times out, inspect the locator attempts, unexpected navigation, failed network requests, and the page screenshot rather than increasing the timeout first.
